Fitness is just as important to me as my massage career. As a massage therapist you have to keep your body in prime condition to have the stamina to do massage after massage, day after day. Being a massage therapist is as intense on the body as being a professional athlete. Without proper body mechanics, self-care, and nutrition a therapist can lose steam early in their career. Burnout and turn over is high among therapists.
After a year of being on the job I decided to step up my fitness game entirely. I joined the local gym for weight lifting, and now I am training for a marathon.
